The Graduate Colloquium, which is organised in parallel with the 15th Annual Research Session (ARS) at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, provides a dedicated platform for postgraduate students from the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) to present and discuss their research findings. Postgraduate researchers from each Board of Study within the faculty deliver oral presentations, showing their dedicated work in their respective fields. These presentations allow students to share their research outcomes, engage with feedback from experienced academics, and participate in meaningful academic dialogue with peers from diverse backgrounds.
The primary objectives of the Graduate Colloquium are to highlight the depth and diversity of postgraduate research at Sabaragamuwa University, provide mentorship and scholarly feedback opportunities, and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration among emerging researchers. By facilitating this academic forum, the university strengthens its research community and supports the professional development of its postgraduate scholars.
Running concurrently with the ARS, the Graduate Colloquium specifically centers on postgraduate research, ensuringthat it receives the focused attention and academic rigour it deserves. Each presenter is allocated time for an oral presentation followed by a question-and-answer session, encouraging interaction and constructive critique. The abstracts of the research presented are published in the official ARS abstract book, a well-recognised publication that significantly enhances the visibility and impact of the postgraduate work.
